FIBER SCIENCE & APPAREL DESIGN
Cornell Costume and Textile Collection
The Department of Fiber Science and Apparel Design maintains the Cornell Costume and Textile Collection, which includes more than 9,000 garments, flat textiles, and accessories from the late 18th Century to present. The collection is used for exhibition, teaching, and research. A gallery for fashion exhibitions is located on the first floor of the Human Ecology Building, and is open during normal weekday business hours when the University is in session. Approximately three exhibitions are mounted each year, and documented through the Cornell University Library Exhibits Website (http://exhibits.library.cornell.edu). The collection is Directed by Dr. Denise Nicole Green (email@example.com); Ms. Helen McLallen (firstname.lastname@example.org) serves as the collection manager and is assisted by a number of student research assistants and volunteers.
You are invited to search the online gallery featuring highlights of the Collection. Also visit the fully searchable online Catalog Database created for the Cornell Costume and Textile Collection, which is still being expanded. Photographs are gradually being added to the catalog.
Not only the online catalog, but also the Collection itself is open to researchers by appointment. If you have questions regarding the collection, please contact email@example.com or find us on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/cornellcostume/) and Instagram (@cornellcostumecollection / http://www.instagram.com/cornellcostumecollection)
